I'm still wondering why I have managed to survive metastatic cancer when others similarly diagnosed have not.
I think it may be a combination of:
- my having done three months of a rigorous nutritional and supplemental protocol, coupled with exercise prior to chemo
- being a 40-year health pursuer - more or less; with lapses
- this both enhanced my reaction to the chemo when I had it and reduced the side-effects
- some genetic factors - some of my relatives have overcome cancer, and some are living a long time (100+)
- I continue to optimise my health; tracking my lifestyle daily, plus monitoring various biomarkers, adjusting my lifestyle accordingly
- I tick most of the other boxes for survival: good marriage, children and grandchildren, no money worries (partly because of no expensive wants), and have access to good medical support
Note that information of what I have done is all in my blog.
